Frustrated!
Im getting frustrated with my car. Ive tried numerous times to get rid of swirls and blemishes. Swirl removal is no problem. However when Ive gone through the process i'm left with small marks on my paint. Heres my procedure...
Wash
Clay bar
Polish 3
Polish 4 (both with orange pads.)
Wax (Red pad)
Im using Griots products and I just can seem to get the small marks out. Do I really need a finer polish than 4(which is supposed to be a finishing polish)? Please help guys!
I was thinking of getting adams fine machine polish?
think that would help???

What kind of marks is it leaving? What buffer are you using? How experienced are you with a buffer? If you're using a rotary, you could be leaving holograms in the paint. At that point it really wouldn't matter what polish you use, it's just getting better at using the buffer. I'm not saying that this is your problem, I'm just throwing out possibilitys. The "holograms" kind of look like white stripes or glares in the paint.
Hope this helps,
Matt

Can you "feel" these marks with your fingernail? If yes, then they may be too deep for a random orbital (or even for a rotary). Also, you are using the two mildest polishes in Griot's lineup. If you want more cut, then you'll need to step up to Griot's Polish 1 or a compound like Meg's 105 or Ultimate Compound.
One suggestion: Always do a TEST SPOT. That way you don't waste your time and energy using a process that isn't accomplishing what you hope.
But pics would be very helpful.
Also check out these Mike Phillip's videos and compare Mike's technique with your own:
