Default Friend thought it would be funny to write "F**k You" on my hood

Well you know how most people find it funny or amusing to write "wash me" on someones car window when it's really dirty. Well my friend thought it would be funny to write "fu*k you" across my hood, as some of you may know we are having fires in SO CALI so ashes are all over the place.

my car was covered in ash and it was dirty from not being washed for months, so when i came home i wiped off all the ash with my duster and tried to clean the area with meguiars detail spray and the scratches didn't come out. It looks like as he was writing that shit on my hood with his finger he scratched the clear coat....so now when my car is in the light you can see the words "fu*k you" in my hood. Upon closer inspection you can see that the marks are not deep. i washed my car and put a layer of meguiars gold wax on. I haven't taken it off yet, but if the scratches are still there what do you guys recommend i try next:

scratch X??
anything else??

p.s. my car is black and i put on 2 coats of zaino a few months ago

That sucks ass. People don't realize that when they do that it makes an impression in the actual paint, sometimes permanently. I hope you figure out a simple solution.

i have not done anything yet, besides cleaning my hood with car wash soap and water and one coat of wax. the car was clayed and zaino'd a few months ago and right now i want to see if there is any easy way to get rid of it. i can't wash my whole car and detail it because of the wild fires in SO CALI, but i definately want to find a quick fix in the meantime....

Menzerna polishes work well.

You could cover it up with Zaino or something similar, but if you really want to remove the scratches, you'd polish it out.

Scratch-X has worked beautifully for me on cone burns etc...

I'd give it a try if I were you.

Good Luck!

Do you have a link of a supplier that carries that product? Or is it readily available at automotive stores?

Thanks for the advice!

It's everywhere... I bought it at GI Joes. It's a Meguiars product...
