Default Fresh paint question

About a month ago I had the back of my car painted. How long should I wait to do the Zaino process? Thanks for your input.

Why not ask the paint shop that did your car or www.zainobros.com?

In a normal situation I would have asked, however based on my experience with this shop (a long story )I was just glad to get my car back. However, I will email zaino and find out from them. Thanks for the idea.

Zaino can be applied in as little as 7 days.
I had a black hood repaint, and on day 7 did the deed - it was the best damned looking part of the car.

paints are cured through a catalytic (chemical) process - they dont off-gas like the old days . . .

its good to go now . . .

and if you ask most shops about zaino, they'll go HUH?

and tell you 30-90 days - anywhere in that range....

What did the email say?? I just had my front lip molded and I wax the rest of the car but I don't want to ruin the new paint by sealing it to soon? So whats the deal?

Here is the response I received from Sal:

There's alot of misinformation about waiting three months for the paint to cure.

I am a custom painter by trade. I am very familar with Dupont, PPG and all the other paint manufacturers.

The most I personally would wait on fresh "aftermarket body shop" paint before polishing with Zaino Show Car Polish is 1 week. That's more than sufficient curing time.

Zaino contains no wax, silicones or abrasives.....

The new paints are catalyzed. A chemical reaction cures the paint. The older lacquers and enamels needed time for the solvents to release. This is not the case anymore. Believe me if that paint need 3 months to dry than it will never dry.... Just the facts.

This is basically what Homer2 also said.

Hope this helps.
