First time waxer...
So I recently purchased a 2004 Silverstone S and it needs to be waxed. I've never waxed a car but have seen people do it, and I'm pretty competent as far as washing the car is concerned. I've been searching and reading around the forum and haven't really come up with the answers I'm looking for. I've read up on base coats of stuff and polishes and sealants but I'm not really looking to get that serious with it. I just need suggestions as to what a good wax for a beginner would be that would stay on the car for like 2 months before having to be re-done. I live in South Florida so a synthetic would be the way to go from what I've read. Any tips and suggestions as to how I should go about doing it will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

right now, ive got a coat of menzerna fmj on my car, topped with a few coats of meguiars gold class carnuba. both products go on easily, and come off just as easily. menzerna states that a coat of fmj will last about 6 months. from my experience, the meguairs should last about a month and a half with frequent maintanance, (general washing). i like the shine that this combo produces, and also the ease of use. as long as you follow the directions on the bottle, you should be fine.
another good tip is to try and find some body in your local community who might be willing to help you wax the car the first time. if you offer drinks and some times food, somebody should be willing to help.
the pic below in my sig is right after i applied a coat of menzerna fmj, in pretty over cast skies, taken with a camera phone. i think it has a really nice shine to it.
thanks
