Fine scratches

Fine scratches
Seems I got some fine scratches from a careless mechanic. I tried Mother's scratch remover with no results. The scratches are fine but deep enough. Can you recommend a product and tool I can try.Has anyone used a dremel tool to buff scratches out?

no dremel, but rather I use a porter cable with a compound (SSR3) or 3MSMR or 3M FCC (fine cut compound) , proper pad etc. etc.
If you don't have the means of attaining it nor DIY, get your car to your local "car detailer" and see what he/she says. They should be able to take fine scratches out. I do ALL the time.

DO NOT USE A DREMEL. You'll do damage. It develops too much heat from friction.
If it is a small area keep working it by hand. I use VM and Scratch X that way all the time.
If that doesn't work maybe an owner of a PC in your area can help you out.

i echo the above comments...
i would strongly advise the pc with at least a fine cut compound (fc would be my first choice too).
be sure to really work the product well. the main mistake that i see with compounds is folks wiping them on and wiping them off like a wax- and that doesnt get it with a compound.
be sure to rewax the area that you work, cause you will be removing everything on the car.
btw, if the scratch is deep you wont need to remove it all to make it not so visible. the compound will round off the edges so it will blend and seem to disappear.
work the product well, remove and inspect.

Thank you all for the advise. The 7" PC at homedepot $ 177.00 didn't sound like the sameone you guys use so I passed on it till I got back to the web seeing which one is the correct model.

Well I bought a PC yesterday and mequiers scratch remover. It worked great except for two little scratches. I will have to get something alittle more adbrasive. The average person cant see them but i've been called annal before. So I had to start from step 1. A few hours later....My baby looks better then when I took it out of the show room. You are right you can not duplicate this effect by hand. I finished the car off so far with two coats of mequiers classic. Now I will be giving away my sears orbit polisher.
