the top sits that high because the elastic straps are losing some of their strength. Easy fix with the modifry straps.

negatory, cause if the straps were wore out, the bar would show, but it's covered. I'm wondering if he just didn't have it down all the way.

these straps lose their elasticity over time. you have two options
1. replace it with modifry's straps
2. lower your top halfway, check to make sure that the bar held by the straps is indeed all the way down, then continue lowering the top

I'm saying, if his straps were wore out, the bar would be showing when the top is down, and its not.
