It seems from taking a break from the wonderful W&W forum (not by choice had other things to take care of) I come back a couple months later and realize i know NOTHING about detailing. Well.. that may be a slight exaggeration, but It seems there atleast 30 makers of products that do essentially the same, worded differently, and in a very wide variety of price.
Ive owned my PC for almost 2 years now and it hasn't been put to use other than for 5 minutes on my GSXR 600 to take a few small swirls off of tank.(which is did great)
I have blue and orange edge 2000 pads and poor boys ssr1 and ssr2 and I think with that combination I could do a lot of good for the paint on my car (florescent lights show bad swirls now), but with reading all these products I'm doubting my limited polishing products and my ability to do the job that needs to be done.
I think a lot stems from my rear plastic window being in such a bad condition with being hazed and my top actually get a very small wear spot which turned into a 1/4" rip. It seems without addressing those two things I don't even want to bother with the rest of my car. I even went so far as to just buy a convex mirror from MUZ so i could see behind me.
Done venting.

Much of the new stuff on the market is very good. The variation between products is minimal. Don't get caught up chasing the perfect products like many of us do. I have a huge cabinet in the garage and 3 tubs in the basement full of detailing stuff. I could get that down to about 11 products right now and not look back.

If you're using a machine I would get a friend to sit in the car and apply some support for the window from the inside. Get a piece of cardboard and cover it with towels (so as not to scratch the platic) and have your friend hold it against the other side of the window so that you don't rip it out of the top by applying too much pressure. Then when you do the inside have him hold the cardboard against the outside of the window.
