Thumbs up Extension Cords & Cord Cover?

I will be getting a PC soon (just waiting for a relative to order it) and I was wondering what type of extension cords people use for their PC. I know there are different types, like gauge thickness, how much power it can handle, and how much will travel through the cord depending on length. I am not an electrical guy, so I have no idea about these things.

Also, is there some type of cover/wrap anybody uses to put over part of the cord so it doesn't rub the paint, or is that not really much of an issue?

TIA
Roger

i use a heavy duty power cord-
and none of the cords touch the car... the cord goes behind my neck or over my shoulder and down my back.
more importantly, be sure to wear clothing with no zippers or buttons-
sweats are perfect- with pullover sweats or t-shirts. and when warm enough, shorts with no zippers or metal (i like running shorts)

I just went to sears and bought a 50' heavy duty with the lighted and locking plug, so it wont come unplugged while buffing. now if i would have remembered to put those hose blockers on my order this morning before i paid, i would have been set

oh well, another excuse to order more stuff soon
