Thumbs up Environment safe car soap OK on s2k?

I'm a new S2k owner. I don't feel like driving 30 miles to the do-it-yourself handwash place and would rather wash my car at my apartment. There's restrictions in my neighborhood for washing your car with regular car-wash soap because it's bad to go down drain.

Is the environmentally safe soap OK to use on an S2k? Anyone else try it or know any articles about them?

Thanks

I dont see why it would hurt it. You could always use Optimum No Rinse Car wash or just Optimum Car Wash as they are both eco friendly

I'm not really sure which soap you're referring to when you say "environmentally safe soap." They're all pretty environmentally friendly actually. It's really the stuff that comes off when you wash the car for the most part which is not environmentally friendly.

are you sure? I think most soaps are pretty bad for the environment (not sure though)
Pretty sure. Most of these soaps are pretty gentle/mild soaps. However, the road salt, tar, etc. that you wash off is not so environmentally friendly.

Now detergents are pretty bad for the environment but soaps? News to me. Sure doesn't seem to bother my grass.

I was once told by a amazing detailer to use Dawn dish soap to wash my car and have ever since and it's very environmentally friendly and gets the car really clean.
