Does carnauba yellow white cars?
I like the glaze and wax method for my cars, all of which are deep colors. For the wax, I like "pure" carnauba paste (without cleaners). Of course, in the can, this stuff is yellow. A friend asked if use of carnauba on a white car would yellow the finish, and I frankly don't know the answer. Does it?
Thanks,
Richard

It may give your car a "warm" glow, but it won't be noticably yellow, no. That's why carnaubas are often preferred for red and yellow cars.
Sealants and some carnauba waxes will give a very CLEAR shine, some say plasticy or "cold".
It could conceivably build up with multiple coats and yellow over time, but it's not likely to happen with a well-maintained white car.

You'll never have an issue, as long as you didn't buy it out of some shady dude's trunk or the local dollar store...
Heck, it would wear off the car before it could yellow from age (if that were possible).

"lol" is not a very informative answer to this question. If you have experience or an opinion on this subject, just state it.

No, it's a recognized brand of "pure carnauba paste wax" (Mothers) that I happen to like for its easily spreadibility and easy buffing. It contains no cleaners or abrasives, so it "layers over the glaze" nicely. And, I have found that this stuff used over a glaze lasts six months, when a good detailing spray is used with each washing. And, in my part of the USA, we have much problems with bugs, tree sap, and the like. I've found that a car finish treated with this process makes it easy to get that sort of crap off.
I just wanted to make sure that I didn't advise my friend to do something that would cause his white paint to become overly yellow. But, I guess if it did, a good wash-down with Dawn would cure it -- right?
Thanks,
Richard

I really like your answer about carnauba giving a "warm glow" to white paint, as white either gets a "warm glow" or a chalky look. A warm glow is much better, in my friend's mind! I know there are many ways to strip off "old wax" and it becomes necessary after a few years. And I know there are a number of way to do it. For example, some "junk" got imbedded in the wax on the hood of my s2k. It came right off with some "Mother's Power Polish" and an orbital. It is a cleaner/glaze, that really "supports a carnauba waxing, and makes it last a long time.
Thanks,
Richard
