Default Does 303 etc change appearance of the top?

My '02 daily driver (Suzuka blue) is garaged at night, but I have to park it in the open during the day. So I want to use something like 303 to protect the top. But I love the look of the top the way it is -- very matte like cloth and not at all glossy or "rubbery".

Do the various protectants change that look?

Thanks,
--Steve

On my car, the 303 only makes the top seem blacker, not shiny.

I use "low-gloss" ArmourAll. Makes the top nice and dark, not shiney. Doesn't change the texture at all.

I've used it one and it's darker than my friends 02 top. I think i used too much because when I washed the car the 303 streaked the side windows.

This is good advice. I also make sure the top protectant comes AFTER the whole car is washed. In fact, I wait till the next day before putting the protectant on to make sure the top is dry. Then I don't allow the top to get wet or put it down till the protectant is good and dry. Usually overnite is sufficient. Done twice a year and it's worry free.
