Default Do You Still Wait to Wax Fresh Painted Surfaces ?

I know in the old days you weren't supposed to wax a newly painted surface for about 30 days+, is that still the case or would you guys wax it right away ?. I got my hardtop painted this week, just wondering if I should put some protective wax/sealant on it now or wait a bit ?. Thanks for any replies.

I just got my hardtop out of the shop yesterday and my guy said not to wash it for about a month. Any car wash soap with or without wax properties will only slow down the curing process of the paint. He did mention that you could use the professional grade meguiars "final inspection" which is paintable with no wax properties for cleaning purposes during the curing, but i still wouldn't touch the paint.

Ah cool, thanks for both replies, I will definitely wait before waxing then, I will go at least 30 days. Good to know that paints still need curing. I appreciate the quick replies.

I would wait 60 days..you can use final glaze on it to protect the paint in the mean time..
