Do you need to spray on any type of water-proofing stuff for the top?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but are you supposed to spray on some kind of protectant for the top? I've read the two FAQs on here about that, and they both seem to regard the S2000 top as a fabric top, when it actually is a vinyl top. So, besides washing the top when it's dirty, what else should be done to maintain it? Thanks for any help!

No you don't but after about a dozen requests, I can't get anyone to fix the FAQs.

The soft top is a textured vinyl made to look like cloth/canvas. Treat it the same way you would treat the vinyl on any car. The most important thing is to keep it clean and protect it from the "ravages of the sun" with a UV protectant.

I use the 303 product on both the vinyl and leather. Has worked great for me.

303 products at All Roadster.com

I have no affiliation with AllRoadster.com or 303 products.

After reading the posts on vinyl top maintenance, I decided to go with the 303 Uv protectant. I went to West Marine and found it there in several sizes (a little more expensive but no shipping charges) and the carry a large line of products for vinyl since boats have many vinyl parts. I also did pick up a vinyl Starbrite waterproofer. Washed the top and applied the 303, sprayed on a sponge to apply. Appiled the waterproofer using the same method. Works like a charm and didnt discolor the top in anyway. Not sure when I should reapply but after a couple of weeks water is still beading on the top.
