Default Do you need to buff after a 303 treatment?

Hi. Whenever I buff my roof to dry it after a 303 treatment, nothing comes off onto the rag. It seems like the roof is already dry after a few minutes.

So what if I applied 303 and let it simply sit on my roof for hours on a bright, hot sunny day? Wouldn't it dry by itself? The roof gets hot enough to emit heat waves. How could anything remain wet on it, even after a 303 application?

sounds like you might not have enough product on your rag... it should be really soaked. and you need to reapply to the rag constantly.
when you buff it off, the rag does not necessarily get wet- but it should be picking up a little excess product.
you are probably o.k.- as long as you spread it on evenly and rubbed in well when you applied.

I had the same problem. I found that soaking a sponge is the best method of application. I let mine sit for 20-40 minutes and then wipe the top with a clean rag. I don't have much come off on the rag but there definately is some coming off on the clean rag. A good way to tell if you used enough 303 is the beading when the top is wet. If water beads as if it's on your hood or another waxed spot you did good.
Hope that helps,
Alex

do you have to buy a convertible top cleaner to clean before you apply the protectant or can i just use car wash shampoo that i use on the paint to clean the top?
