Do I need to use separate rags when cleaning red and black leather?
Only had the car for 2 days now but...I just wanted to make sure that I was doing the right thing before I actually have to clean out my car. Basically I just wanted to know if there is anything special that I need to do when I clean the red/black interior. Should I use separate rags, is there a special cleaner that I should use for the red? What kind of cleaner should I use? (For the CL S I just use Meguiar's non-shiny leather cleaner and that does just fine). Gimme your thoughts...

I disagree with Wanabe here. If you really feel the need to use separate towels for red and black, stop soiling and washing all those rags and get some pre-moistened leather cleaning/protecting wipes from your local auto parts store. I've used all the leather stuff and I strongly prefer the wipes to sprays and creams applied with towels. Plus, with using 2 wipes (about half the size of a paper towel) it's simple to use separate wipes for your two tone interior and you don't have to worry about all the extra laundry.
But honestly do you see red or black on your towel when you are cleaning your leather? If so, you may want to use a softer cleanser...
I use Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes and they work very well.

Yep, I'd use one MF towel with Lexol Cleaner and another with the Lexol Conditioner. If the colors rub off onto the towel, then you've got a problem to begin with anyway.

Don't waste a MF towel on your leather...cotton is just fine.
If you have color coming off of one...you are in trouble it means you are in for some premature wear. If color is coming off, discontinue using the cleaning products you have, they are too strong.
my favs for cleaning my car are the leather wipes also, I just use what we have though... www.leatherinstitute.com
then I use the Cleaner, Conditioner, and Protector product last, leaves the interior smelling and looking great.
You do not want to use vinyl products on leather, use only products that are made strictly for leather, you will thank me in the long run.
