If you clean the dust off the dash, what do you use to sketch out lines through the corners?

"OK, this is 3A [draws curve]. If you turn in here [marks a spot], you're early. But if you wait until here [marks a different spot] and then...."

I don't shine mine, don't like the glare. I use a "swiffer" dust cloth, you can buy a box in any grocery store. Good dust magnet. Great for getting dust off the entire dash and doors.

Dusting your dashboard is well & good, but it also needs to be protected or else it will eventually crack. I usually dust my dash with my mini CA car duster. Sometimes, I also use Meguiar's Interior Quick detailer to clean up the dash a bit. Once a month though, I treat the dash with 303 to protect the vinyl from UV. I always and I mean always use micro-fibers (no lint from MF's). I do find the 303 darkens the vinyl a touch, but not too bad. Also, the 303 leaves a matte finish not a shiny one.

I hadn't used anything but a damp cloth or MF on my dash for 5 years/80k miles of mostly top-down driving (daily driver, garaged, run in the winter). It was starting to look a little "dry" so I used 303 for the first time and it looked like new again. I apply 303 about every month to two months, but the car doesn't see that much driving anymore (about 1k/mo).

Also, I've tried the Sonus Total Eclipse and prefer the finish to 303 - seems a little lower sheen and less residue to buff up.

After that first application I noted:

I keep a plush MF in the car to dust the dash, console, etc. Just a dry MF usually has enough static to pick it all up and the plush ones have extra depth to hold all that dust
