Say Chaz!

Dug your Suzuka outta the snow yet? Hey, here's what I use, and I understand it's kinda anal but nothing is spared when it comes to detailing my interior, as you know.

I use a can of the Officeduster air spray that you use to precision-clean your computer keyboards, electrical equipment, etc. Man, it works great. I use the air to first blow all the dust out of the nooks and crannies of the interior, give a blast across the digital dashboard and watch the dust fly out of the car- sayonara. Then I use a soft cotton chenille cloth (slightly damp) to finish and dry. A swirl-free interior to go with the swirl-free exterior.

Pouring rain today. Just a brutal frikkin' winter out here in Massachusetts, Vince! I keep asking my wife why we moved back here. I'd much rather be riding my mountain bike on Mt. Tam!

I'm unlikely to put Neb back on the road for at least another month. There's still half a foot of snow/ice on the ground and more salt/sand than you can imagine.

Of course, that didn't stop me from pulling Neb out of the garage yesterday for a while. A mini-fix!

Good suggestion on the compressed air. Hadn't thought of that.

I think I'm gonna' give those grab-it wipes a try and start "seasoning" my new Cali duster.

Think I'd be making a mistake using the grab-it on the clear plastic, guys? The Pledge web site mentions dashboards, but I'm specifically concerned about the clear plastic instrument panel cover.

Chaz, that would tend to make me think twice, especially with clear plastic. I know it seems like we're splitting hairs, but that's the reason I blow the dust particles off first; less abrasion to start with to prep the surface. There's thousands of chemicals and cleaners out there, but there's something to be said for plain, old-fashioned water. I'm a firm believer in using a clean, damp cloth (cotton or m/f) to further pick up dust without scratching. I usually don't wipe straight away with cloths, I rather dab my way around first. After dabbing, wipe away with abandonment!
