I have a pair of Maui Jim Ti Sports. I see the strangest things on others' cars. Pontiac minivans have the REDEST windshields. A lot of rear windows have this splotchiness (I originally thought this was what you were talking about)...though it's more uniform and certainly deliberate on the manufacturer's part.

As far as the clay, I was trying to offer another suggestion. I really don't know. Good luck though.
I'm not sure if it was your doing or not, but I've seen that on other cars, those polorized lens' show a lot of defects, it could have been from the manufacture.

Out of interest sake.. let's say it is nothing that I did or used.

is there something that the film itself might show with these glasses. Like xpresso says possibly a defect. I mean 3m film is not smooth and has no clarity.

Not sure if it's what caused your problem, when I use Klasse, I never use SG on plastic. My rear plastic and all my plastic lenses only get AIO. SG can def look hazy if applied too thick. My first time using SG, I put too much on my hood and when I buffed it looked ok, but in certain lighting you can see ghosting on the hood from the excess SG. I just re-AIO'd the hood to correct the ghosting.

............ And then he said these are polarized glasses. So I look through them, and yikes it looked crappy. blotches, various shapes. Some looked white, some where dark, and one section was like an oil film which gave off some rainbow colours. So what the heck is this, and did I screw it up. The rest of the car looked good with the glasses, just the film. Any ideas.

Relax, I don't think you did anything wrong. Polarized lenses filter scattered light. Without writing a thesiss, just suffice it to say that the lenses allow light to pass through at certain angles only, thus reducing glare (scattered light). In certain applications it can cause strange effects such as with lcd screens, window tints, and laminated windows, which in effect are also polarized themselves. Xpel film, stretched across the front of a car, undoubtedly has some strange optical distortions, which you enhanced by cleaning and shining it. Did you damage it. NO. It is just clean enough to reflect enough light to show these distortions through a polarized lens. IMHO, optically, Maui Jim sunglasses are the finest lenses available. I have worn and sell most all the major brands in my optical. Nothing will reduce glare like a polarized lens, unfortunately you have experienced their handicap.

Thanks a bunch! I will pass this one to the fellow. On the otherside maybe the klasse has helped this light reflection more so to the extreme.
