Hi,

Im thinking of getting a ROS buffer and try to do some detailing of our own.

But i have a few questions before i start buying the equip, firstly.

What pads will we need?

Do you always have to follow a more aggressive pad with a less aggressive?

Ie yellow then orange pad.

Can you do a yellow then white?

poorboys (SSR2.5+ SSR1.0) or XMT?

Ive also looked at Menzerna products, can you use a ROS with these? or are they more suited for rotary buffers? i have no experience in buffing at all.

btw im from Australia so some products may be harder to get then what you guys have over there in the states.

80% of the swirls are gone, but i think i should of went over it with another pass of ssr2.5.

Id want to do the whole car again maybe try to get more of the swirls out as it was kind of a rush job... would love to do x3 coats of Z2 + few layers of p21s when i get them time.

Ive decided to go

poorboys SSR2.5 + orange CCS pad
poorboys SSR1.0 + white CCS pad
Z2 (do i need ZFX? or will this product work fine without it?)

the old z2 did not need zfx... it used z1

the new z2 needs zfx for the first coat. then you can just do the z2

As good as Poorboys is I would have to say you should look really hard at
the Menzerna line up.

Go with Menzerna SIP and then follow it with Menzerna 85rd.

Yes you can use Menzerna with the Porter Cable buffers.

Ive purchased some poorboys products somewhere more close to home,

from www.waxit.com.au but they still only have a limited amount of goodies which you guys have over there in the states.

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. Ive been reading around on how to buff with a ROS they say work on a small block at a time.

Do you guys usually work on small sections around the whole car with 1 product (ie SSR2.5) once the whole car is done then go over it with SSR2?

Or do you work in section at a time using SSR2.5 then the same section with SSR1 once done, move onto a new section.

Thanks for the offer, but ive source most of the parts i need to get started from a place more close to home, it got delivered to my doorstep within 24 hours so it sure beats waiting a week or so. Ill let you know if i do need anything from you guys.
