I've never heard of such a thing as paint protection(other than wax).....Is this something the sales guy was telling you after he said the price of the car is $38,000 but he's gonna throw in the "paint protection" free?

Your free $500.00 paint protection cost the dealer about 3 bucks of product and 45 minutes work for one of their part time flunkies to put on. It is a non-wax type of product that supposedly bonds to the paint surface. Is works reasonably well but needs annual re-treatment to be truly a "lifetime" product. It protects against environmental damage but does not shine a brightly as products that require more "self" effort such Zaino or even Zymol.

well, the thing is when they got the car from another dealer, because they had to trade for the color that I wanted, the car came with it. the $500 paint thing on top of the MSRP. they ended up just giving to me, since I didn't ask for it. yeah, i bet that paint protection is BS, and yes I do have swirl marks.
