Dear members,

I was de-badging my car last night and this morning when i saw my car in the light i noticed that the paint around the old "s2000" emblem was hazey.
I think this was due to the fact that i was rubbing pretty hard to get the excessive sticky stuff off with a combination of "goo-gone", which totally didn't work.

I have a sebring, and i was wondering what could be done to fix this.

Any advise would help.

I used something called "Hand Glaze" on a similar problem which brought the car up a real treat but after a few dozen washes it went dull again - best bet is to hand polish it out, be careful with T Cut though as it can put fine scratched into the lacquer.

hand glaze is a good start, since it is nonabrasive, clear coat safe, and contains no wax or silicones...
it is possible that what you are seeing is swirls (or very small scratches)- if you were rubbing too hard (and had something in the rag) you could have swirled. if this is the case you will need to use a swirl remover, such as the 3m swirl remover. it is more aggressive and has mild abrasives (it will remove some clear coat so just use as much rubbing as you really need).
i would go hand glaze first and if that doesnt work i would try swirl remover.

i should have added to my post above that i would go first with hand glaze, then with the zaino swirl cover (cant remember which one that is, but i know that someone will post it for me!!), then if you are still not happy with the 3m swirl remover.
the zaino will not remove the swirls, and after a couple of weeks will lose its cover, but it also will not remove any clear coat like the 3m will.
after 2.5 years i use the zaino cover as my swirls are not yet bad enough to remove... but i know that i will probably need to use the 3m in about 6 months or so-
