"creeper" For Detailing
i usually use a rug and sit on the ground to detail wheels, exhausts, etc...
but after a couple of van details where i couldnt easily move a rug (i was polishing, so it would have been a lot of rug moving!) i decided its time to get a mobile seat (like a mechanics creeper) to sit on to do the lower areas.
i have seen a couple choices- one is the mechanics creeper like this one:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product...catalogId-10101
and someone suggested one of these:
http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/6990_g...oter-hopper.htm
or
http://www.outdoorssearch.com/ospi/tractor...-tray-5986.html
all have advantages/disadvantages-
anyone use one of these? or something else?
or have other thoughts?

good old cardboard works fine for me
but just try detailing the side of a van- i did it by bending down while moving.
man, my back feels it now!

I like to use the mechanic's type, personally. I think it provides the best range of positions (not too high/low) and the least amount of bending (for most cars). For cars that are lower, I use a trash can dolly. Trash can dolly's are nice since they're very low to the ground and I happened to have one lying around the house.
trash can dolly:
EDIT: Link no work. Do a search for "dolly" on Home Depot website to see what I'm referring to.

I usually use a cushion with the trash can dolly. You're right, it's not too comfortable to sit on . If you want to go cheap, you can just get a board and four casters and make your own.

I use a creeper similar to this:
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productde...1775593&ccitem=
I like it most because the seat height is adjustable. However, I'd never pay $100+ for a creeper seat. Instead, I usually go to Office Max or Staples and get a cheap office desk chair, which does all the same things as the creeper seat, but with a $25-$30 price tag.
