Correlation amongst Cold Weather/Dirty Car/Top Squeek?
The weather got cold for last few weeks. Started get this annoying squeeking noise from directly above my head with the top up. Went to dealership and no problem reproducing sound. Made appoinment. Came home and washed my car. Aannnd...the noise is gone!
So have any of you had a similar experience? It's hard for me to tell what's caused the noise or what eliminated it (although a good shampooing of the top does it for the moment). Past threads seemed to suggest the cold weather as the cause and silicon grease around the rubber seals as solution. But mine seemed to come from one of the struts above my head.

My top squeaked from the right fastener. I don't know if it was cold related, since my top was down all summer. Once it got cold, I also noticed my seatbelt rubbed on my seat and squeaked. Fixed that with some sticky felt.

Mine was doing the same thing yesterday and the noise would stop when I lowered the driver's window. The window must be rubbing the rubber seal, causing the squeak.

Cold weather definitely seem to worsen (if not cause) the top (frame above your head?) noise. But what gets me totally baffled is the fact I seem to notice the noise every time I skip a weekly carwash (everything else, like the cold weather being the same). Maybe top wash loosens the top a little, giving less tension to the frames, which in turn results in less noise? It sure sounds like something's too tight when it sqeeks.
