I would skip the NXT. It is a very short lived product. In fact, I had bought two new bottles and returned them unopened.

Over past two month I used Gold Class (old open bottle) and NXT on my car and my wife's Miata.

The Gold Glass gave a warmer shine and believe it or not. It lasted longer than the NXT.

We have had a LOT or rain over the past month so I think the comparision is valid, to me.

Now that I have a PC I plan to go over the car with Meguiars No. 9 and 7. 9 on the new fender and 7 on the rest of the car then top with #26 to check.

Just of kicks, when I returned the both bottles of NXT $35, I picked up a bottle of Black Magic Liquid Shine $5.

May try it on the Miata.

Has anyone used the Meguiars Guarantee about returning the unused portion for a full refund?

Black Magic Liquid works pretty good on my wife's Miata. The shine is as nice as Gold Class and it has almost as wet a look as NXT. I'll let you know how durable it is.

I've never used the money back guarantee. However, I've had a couple of Meguiar's accessories fall apart and they always send me replacements no questions asked.

Cool

Black Magic Liquid Polish on my wife's Miata Silver. Shine is good, went on nice, easy to remove. Did this by hand. Cost $5 at Pep Boys vs. $16 for NXT or $11 for Gold Class.

I previously used Cleaner Wax and NXT on the car, which held up well for about 10 days. It was a magnet for pollen. But the bird poop did not stick.

Nobody's mentioned Nufinish. I have used the paste, not the liquid form. Paste is little more difficult to buy since most stores carry the liquid and not the paste. Pep Boys has the Nufinish in paste form.

I am pretty happy with it. It's cheap and easy. My three steps are: dawn wash, clay, then Nufinish - use Nufinish sparingly. Nufinish is easy on and easy off. Leaves a nice shine but not sure about its durability because I garage and cover my S and I rarely drive in the rain.

Nufinish scored well in this test and in the last CR test about four years ago. I have used it, but did not like the shine. I have read some threads that say it contains a lot of cleaning solvents.

There is some truth there because, I use what little I have left to clean off scuffs. It has also worked well at removing paint from fender benders. Like a mild form of Scratch X.

Do you always wash your car with Dawn or is that only when you are going to wax? Washing your car with Dawn dries out rubber seals and exterior plastic & rubber trim. It's also probably not too healthy for a vinyl top. A couple times a year may not do too much damage, but once a week is probably not a good idea. Even Dawn says not to use their product to wash your car.

Plus, there is so much cleaner in NuFinish that it will remove the old wax for you. So, washing with Dawn is a little overkill besides being harmful to your car.

That Black Magic Liquid Wax is pretty good. It is holding its shine longer than NXT on my wife's Miata.
