Clear coat on headlights coming off

Wow this an old thread...Haha. I ended up just polishing my headlights out - wet sanding, PC polishing, the whole 9 yards. They looked brand new when I was done. Bad news is that they require this type of treatment every 6 months now. I don't know if there's just something wrong with the plastic used on my lenses - bad batch or something.

Hmm, thanks. I will have to get a headlight restoration kit it looks like.
Have you tried any sealant after your done, to prevent it from coming back?
Also, to be sure, when you say PC, you mean polishing compound?

Yes, sorry. PC = porter cable
I've been waxing them, admittedly not frequently enough though, but they still end up starting to look cloudy after 6 months or so

the flaking is the UV coat that is put on the factory lens. When this begins to flake you wet sand this layer off thus giving you a brand spanking like new lens. The out come is that after a few months your lens will become yellow again since you have completely wet sanded the UV layer off.
