Cleaning rubber seals for conv top
Hey guys, i'm going to be really cleaning the top and the seals that are involved with it. I'd like to clean all the rubber seals prior to applying the Shin Etsu Grease.
What would be a good product for cleaning and conditioning the seals, that i could possible pick up from the local pepboys, autozone, napa, etc..
I dont want to apply the grease to dirty seals, because grease is already messy, and you add dirt to that... it's no good.
thanks in advance

most vinyl cleaners will work... there are several products that do rubber, vinyl, etc.
you could even use a diluted all purpose cleaner (that would be my first choice) since you will be "replumping" the rubber with the shin etsu (great stuff, btw).

well.. i didnt just get a basic cleaner. The place that has been closed everytime i go, was actually open... so i picked up some 303 cleaner, to go along with my raggtopp cleaner and protectant. So ill just use the 303 on all the rubber and use the raggtopp on the top.
I also picked up some sunbrella material to try and stop a tear before it starts. Got a new genuine sheepskin wash mit, waffle weave towel, some new microfiber towels, and applicator pads.
I'd like to get an organic spounge for washing the car also, and possibly some better carwash. I've been using the eagle one soap and the eagle one nanowax. So we'll see where this all takes me.
thanks for the point in the right direction wanabe

yeah the manual says to use window cleaner - so I think something like Windex might be okay, they obviously think it is safe to use on the rubber parts, followed up by Shin Etsu.
