Cleaning and Protecting...
hey guys,
Unfortunately, my car does see a lot of sun... and i try to keep everything clean and protected. I've basically got the exterior covered after reading and browsing multiple detailing threads, but i do have a few questions.
Headlights... we all know the crappy plastic they are made with does not keep well, with intense sunlight and heat. Being that i live in the South, there's really nothing i can do to avoid it, so i would like to know how to properly clean and protect my headlights from getting hazy and oxidized. I do not want to put myself in the position to have to sand and clear the headlights.... i'd rather buy new ones.... but i would like to avoid that situation altogether. What's your input?
Dashboard... I do have the all red interior. I would like to keep that way... RED. I have seen many red dashboards that are not in good condition, and it really ruins the look of it all. I put a sunscreen up constantly, where ever i park, top up or top down. I have read people using the 303 vinyl protectant (same product for the soft top?) on the dash, is this enough to clean and protect the dash? Or are there any better products on the market?
Thanks in advance for the responses, and i apologize if these subjects have been thoroughly covered...

for the dash the 303 will be enough since there is spf in it/ spf 40 i believe.
cleaning the dash on the other hand is different......there are multiple products for that.
ever thought of getting a clear bra on the lights???

i used lamin-x on my previous car's headlights, and i did not care for it. I've been using plastic polish on the headlights every other wash.. just to try and keep something on them to protect them.
sillyboybmxer: what would you recommend to clean the dash, prior to protecting it with 303?

polish doesnt really protect, put some sealant on them.
i use onr to clean my interior, then put a layer of poorboys trim restorer which serves as a protectant as well.
