Default Cleaning/protect dashboard

This is a newbie question I'm sure (go figure, I'm an S2K newbie!) but I was wondering what should be used to clean and protect the dash from UV? I know it's not leather, but is it a vinyl?

Silly me, I went to the dealer for answers...(I know, I know, what the heck was I thinking???) and was told by the detail guy at the dealer to use a leather product on it, which I did. BIG MISTAKE!! It dried all white and dusty looking. I have since gotten the leather stuff off of it, but still am not sure what to use to clean and protect the dash. Any suggestions?

suggestion #1- this is the place for detailing questions....
i know the dealer should be, but they are better for parts!!

#2- yup, your dash is vinyl.

some quality choices would be vinylex or 303.

both products are here:
