I use Plexus with a quality microfiber towel. I bought Plexus primarily to keep my rear window clean, but found it's creat on the gauge cluster as well.

You can use exterior detailing mists, which are safe for paint and float dust so it cannot scracth, and leave a dust-resistant coating. I like to apply some to a Microfiber detailing towel (green) and then lightly go over the instruments, since one would not want liquid going down intot he cluster.

I use Meguiar's plastic polishes, and also the Novus line for cleaning, light and heavy scratches (3 products). I got Novus from McMaster-Carr. Plexus is also fne - theya re all very similar products.

Having either scratched (or the pevious owner scratching) the plastic on the instrument cover I only ever use Plexus with the best quality microfibre towel I can find.

The stuff is fantastic. I am not sure how it works but its great.

One other thing (and I think this is how the scratch may have occured) when wiping with the microfibre make sure you keep any binding material away from the surface and any tags.

I want to get my hands on some of the new generation micro-fibre stuff thats available in the US which doesnt seem to use harsh binding material any more.

haha... i've had meguire's plastic cleaner/polish and microfiber towels in my possession for a while now, and it never dawned on me to use it on my gauge cluster!

I have been using the plastic cleaner/polish only on my rear window, headlights and tail lights...

I use a Swiffer dry cloths and just wipe the instrument panel off. I keep one in my secret compartment for quick wipes of the instrument panel, dash, radio, around the shift boot and anywhere else that looks like it's collecting too much dust (or pollen for this time of year). I haven't thought about using Plexus (which I use on my bike & it rocks)...good idea!

After having cleaned my gauge cluster really well and it doesn't really matter what you use as long as it doesn't scratch it, I use a baby California Duster. Maybe once every year or two do it go back and actually "clean" it again.
