Cleaning buffing pads
What methods do you use to clean your pads? Last night I tried a variation of a couple methods I read about on autopia and it seemed to work pretty well.
- Soak pads in a dawn/water mix for 10 minutes or so.
- Scrub out the pads with a stiff brush.
- I followed that up by kneading them with my hands to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
- Fold in half and wring out
- Rinse with water from the Velcro side of the pad
- Wring out again.
- Repeat until the water coming out of the pad is clear.
- Dry upside down for a while (mine are still drying, been about 18 hours)
So how do you clean them?

I run them under the tap with warm water, and squeeze them from their centers outward, to get some of the polish out. Then I'll fill the sink with warm water, plus a couple glugs of Majestic Solutions "Super Green Stuff" all purpose cleaner, and let them soak for a while - maybe ten minutes. When I come back, I'll squeeze the pads while they're under the water, and the polish flows out of them like a cloud. It's pretty cool.

I use DP polishing pad rejuvinator. I soak the pads for a while, then rinse them out, and squeeze out the excess water. Then place them on a clothes drying rack, velcro side facing up.
