Default Cleaning *Inside* the Convertible Top

Hi folks,

I was looking for some advice about cleaning the inner surface of the convertible top -- the part the faces the car's interior when the top is up. I assume that even though it really feels like cloth, it is probably vinyl too...

Any thoughts on that? I tried to put together a keyword search, but I couldn't home in on what I was looking for...

I'm really not sure. Probably yes, Simon. I haven't recalled anyone discussing the top interior before, so I thought I'd ask.

I have Lexol Vinylex, but haven't acquired any 303 yet. I think I need to get some.

I actually came onto this forum to ask this question. 303 (Cleaner, not protector right) you're supposed to rinse off after use, that's what I use on my top (outside). I'm tried using just a wet washmit, that's done alright. But I seek a better solution as well.

When you put your top down, the top becomes a dust magnet.

I moisten a clean Microfiber towel with Meguiar's No. 34 Final Inspection. The combination dose a great job cleaning things up. I also use it to clean the dust off the top too. Final Inspection detailing spray dose not contain any waxes or silicones. I'm finding this to be a very useful product !

Cool... Thanks. Sounds reasonable. So true about the dust magnet. Add to that that I drive top down in light rain etc...

interesting... my top is almost never up-
saw it the other day (put it up to wash the car)- looks like i just bought it-
no dust, just perfect. maybe cause i use the boot over it?
since its so clean, i have no experience with cleaning the inside of it...
if i did need to clean or preserve it, my first choice would prob be vinylex. and a very light coat would do the inside i would think.

I almost never use the boot, wanabe... Thus the top part (that is exposed when the top is down) is pretty filthy.

I just use a wet towel to wipe it down.
