Claybar products
Thanks so much for all you guys help. I just finish claybar my car and my cousin 3 series. Both look awesome, and the paint is VERY SMOOTH. It was much much easier than I expected. Nothing better than doing it yourself than pay someone to do it for you. Here're a few pictures.

Over on Autopia is a good section on using claybar.

Also, MickyC's guide is good as well.

3 hours? Really?
I use Meguiar's on the S (sebring) and my truck (black). I use different pieces of clay on each of course but it works well on both and isn't too expensive.

I just did mine for the first time too. It didn't take 3 hours to clay. It took 3 hours to wash, clay, wash, pre-clean, sealant/glaze, carnauba, and carnauba. I used the Mother's line. For a first timer, it was easy to do. With more practice, I'm sure I will get better at it, but it really wasn't bad at all.

It takes me maybe 20 minutes to clay my car. Seriously though, clay is all pretty similar. I would just go down to my local auto parts store and get the Clay Magic kit. It's $10 for a bar of clay and a bottle of clay lube. It's a pretty good deal.

If you ONLY want to clay, just go to Walmart and get the Mothers detailer and clay. It goes for $17 I think, I bought mine on sale for $10. 30 MAX should you spend Claying your car. (Especially for a small car like the S)

has anyone tried the Turtle Wax ICE liquid clay yet? I just saw an ad on TV for it last night... I have my doubts about it, but figured maybe it works...
Good old-fashioned clay is still in my arsenal, tho.
