Cerakote Pro Paint Coating

Cerakote Pro Paint Coating
Been playing with coatings, decided my Honda would test Cerakote cause if it looks good on an AR15 it should look Killer on car. Nice outcome for a 20 year old car with ~150k miles.
$30 for 30ml, single layer, super easy application, polymer / non SiO2 formula, fun water behavior. Sometimes i wish i had more sophisticated color cause this stuff would make it really pop. GPW not easy to look extraordinary.
it's not on the glass. I have stoner/ rainX on glass right now.

I use Cerakote for plastic exterior parts and have been well pleased so far.
For the S2000, after polishing, clay bar and washing with Dawn, I applied Avalon King ceramic coating. Wow! I wish I had this stuff years ago for all my cars. Looks almost new and dirt just slides off. For the headlights, after polishing, I put Excel film on them for a permanent solution.

Still testing the Cerakote 1 month in. They apparently had some issues with curing at low temperatures and i heard they are going to revise the product and instructions. I'm in socal and personally have had good results so far. I guess i put it on just in time before it got "cold".
I heard a lot of good things about Avalon King, i think if i were to go with a safer option i'd probably be using DIYD 5 year. This professional and consumer spray stuff is rapidly evolving these days and chances are by the time the what we have wears out there will be a new version or some entirely new technology released..
I did a lot of decontamination when i was prepping for this (luckily i've never had a coating before on this car). I chemically stripped the car with Griots Surface Prep (acid), iron remover and clay towel, demineralize/waterspot remover, 3 step polish for physical strip and maximum gloss (as much as you can get on 20 year old paint), and then Kleanstrip PrepAll to ensure sure all residue removed.
My main reasons for installing Ceramic is the looks...gloss and 'self cleaning'. It makes washing the car so much easier especially in combination with all the new chemicals available today ie. rinseless and waterless. I rarely pull out the pressure washer, hose or bucket anymore. Saves me time and i can wash in the garage most of the time. Less touching/rubbing = less scratches and swirls.
Gentle Foam Wash Dirt, foam, soap and suds have a much harder time sticking to the car with a coating. The foam just pulls dirt right off the car
Foam beads on the coating like water drops
