Default center console needs help.....

so finally the weather start looking good here at socal, and my dad ask to trade our car for a day.... guess he was trying to show off with the topdown. I was worrying the whole day that he will scatch or mis-shift the whole day, but lucky the car came back in one piece. But there are one problem, I "think" he spilled something on my center console cupholder release cover button.

Now whenever I wanna close the cover, the button it get stuck and when i push it down it fills like there is some kind of coffee/coke sticky feel, how can I clean that piece on a MY08.

please help......

You could try a stiff bristled brush soaked in some Simple Green or similar setup. Otherwise, if it's really sticky and annoying (and it sounds like it is), take off the center console. Don't quote me on this as I've never tried it myself, but I believe it just snaps off.

Check the Electronics section, in the past when I've gone looking for iPod setups there's been loads of threads on how to pull the center console. I don't remember there being a lot to it.

just pop the center console off, the button is held by two phillips head screws, just unhook it and clean it out
