Caution - Newspaper Scratched My Windshield !!
I know it sounds unbelievable that this could happen but it did.
I actually have micro/hairline scratches in my windshield after cleaning it with newspaper. You can only see them at certain angles and when driving into the sun.
First thing I did was thoroughly clean the glass on the outside by washing it with a microfiber mit and zaino car wash first. Then used Stonier Invisible Glass with newspaper instead of paper towels. Now I have horizontal scratches all over my windshield.
Is there any product I can use to fill in these micro-scratches? They are about 2-3 inches long and are driving me crazy.
I'll never use newspaper again.

There are "kits" sold to polish out scratches from windshields, however, these are for pretty messed up glass. For the minor ones that you have, I would suggest the "Bon Ami" method. Get a can of powder Bon Ami cleanser. ONLY Bon Ami is the correct particle size for this application. Sprinkle it DRY on a DRY sponge pad (NOT the ones with the abrasive side) and start polishing the DRY glass in circular motions. Do the whole windshield, not just the scratches. You may have to go over it 2-3 times. If Bon Ami is too hard to find, you can substitute Corn Starch.

Which glass polish did you use? By "pits" do you mean small rock chips?

Darn spell check changed my "Thnak you" to "that you".
Truly appreciate your help on this as I'm kicking myself every time I drive the car for the idiotic micro-scratches.

Uh-oh! I was making the mistaken assumption that the scratches were on the outside. I wouldn't use Bon Ami on the inside. It's one helluva messy business. Yes, I have used it on the outside of a previous car. It does work. However, I didn't have a tinted window so I cannot vouch for its safety.
I think the inside is going to be a blitch. It would be very difficult to apply uniform pressure on the inside curvature.
I'm afraid since it is on the inside, you had better get professional help.
ps. The Bon Ami thing was demonstrated on an old episode of "Shadetree Mechanic" many years ago.
edit:
pps. Bon Ami and Corn Starch is such a fine powder that it won't dull or haze the glass. It will polish the glass. For your own comfort, try it on a small corner of the glass first.
