Cat-less Exhaust Tips
So a couple of weekends ago I was washing my car and decided to see if there was any way to get the stains off of my exahust tips as I have a test pipe and they get pretty dirty back there. After trying various polishes and compounds I basically decided that there was no solution....
Till I looked over and saw a steel wool pad that my friend had used to get some stuff off of his counter surface in the garage. I grabbed it and within 30 seconds my exhaust tip was gleaming. I'm so happy. I thought I'd never see the polished shine of the stainless steel again but they look great! A little Meguiars Aluminum/Mag Polish had the exhaust tips looking great.
I hadn't seen that mentioned before on here so I thought I'd post it up. I've been letting the tips get dirty for a couple weeks now so I'll take some before and after pics the next time I do it.

I'll wait till they get reeeeally dirtied up to go at them again.
After spending countless hours with my porter cable on a friend's black Yukon ( ) his paint was looking great again with a great deal of the swirls removed, I barely had the energy to do my car. I've got to devote another day real soon to complete start to finish job on my paint.
I'm a failure with my camera, I always think "I should've taken pictures..." way too late. Next time I won't forget! I'm gonna earn me a badge this year...

I have magic erasers as well and have been impressed with what they can do!
Prior to this I tried alcohol, brake cleaner, carb cleaner, CLR, and paint thinner. Seems like a little abrasiveness was needed to get the soot that builds up on the pipes.
My exhaust is a Comptech so it's got a rolled lip around the exits and that's where it builds up. I'll take pics soon and you'll see Maybe even this weekend...
