I have 4 coats on and will add 4 more before winter. It is odd, but I noticed that mine got more shiny after I left it for about two months after the 4th coat and didn't do another coat right away. I've just maintained it with Z6, and Z7 after washes and it is more shiny now than 2 months ago with the 4 coats on.

xviper,
about the therapy thing, yeah i know, i'm not trying to bag on people that do it only twice a year. i just got a little carried away at the start of my life with zaino.
about the zaino thing. at first i was doing it because i didn't believe anything would last a month, much less 6 months! but now that i'm getting more anecdotal data (like from you) i'm starting to believe "it" I'm starting to ween myself off of Z2, i'm doing one coat every two weeks now, and once it gets cooler i figure once a month is not too obsessive. i still wash every week though, that only takes me about 30 minutes.
FormerH22a4,
i agree about it Z2 and waiting, even the next day I notice my car has a slightly brighter shine.

If you're in a bind, I think I've got a couple of new bottles sitting around. You can pay me back when yours come in. I'm lending one bottle to Hellspire.

Thanks Dave, I still have a 1/4 bottle left so will place an order with Homer2. It gets here quick but thanks for the offer. I use Z6 religiously, I think that is the main thing that is making it more shiny after every wash.

Comment #1: >>>i love it because of the endurance, the stuff justs lasts. <<<

Comment #2: >>>i have a new Electric Blue Cooper S, I wash it once a week and usually do a coat of zaino too. it's so quick that it's just not that much work. <<<

I have noticed that lots of Zaino enthusiasts frequently apply additional layers. For the same effort, you could be using P21S and get a noticeably better overall appearance. But you'll need to spend 10 - 15 minutes every 6-8 weeks reapplying.

My point is that many Zainophiles seem not to utilize Zaino's most outstanding characteristic - it's leave-it-alone durability.

Try something like P21S / S100 and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.

I'm with xviper. After putting 8 "base" coats on, I use Z2 only twice a year. Z6 after each wash and in between washes keeps it looking sharp!

>>>Your point is taken though - a simple wash and dry would still make your car look better than 99 out of 100 on the road<<<

But that is not my point!

My point is that for the same effort you can get BETTER results with some of the carnaubas. Especially for show cars or if you're going to a car event and you want the best appearance.

If you constantly reapply Zaino then it's durability characteristic, it's single strongest result...is moot. Here's how it compares to P21S/S100 wax initial appearance-wise. (From the recent Guru Reports group wax test)

Shine/Gloss/Depth/Clarity/Reflec./Slickness/Color enhance/Overall

Z: B+/B+/B+/B-/B+/A/B/B+

p: A/A/A/A-/A-/A-/A/A

Durability wise Zaino came in first and P21S/S100 was ranked fourth highest out of 46 products.
