From that I gathered that it was OK to use outside and as I said my original post I've been using it outside [with no additional protection] for 1-1/2 years in rain, snow, sleet and hail with no problems.
The salesman who sold me the car and the cover also said [and I am well aware that "salesmen" can't always be trusted] that it was OK for outside use.
I'm also an advocate of using "breathable" covers.

It's done well by me. If it gets wet (and it's often damp in parts in the morning from the coastal dew) I just put it back on the car when I get to work (parking garage) to dry out. I've even left it wet in the trunk for over 2 days when we had a "storm". When the sun eventually came back out, I just put it back on the car to dry.
Now, if I know it's gonna rain, I just leave it in the trunk and let the car get rained on.
On those days that I forget to put it on, I'll come out in the morning and there will be cat footprints all over my car.
