calling out meticulous s2k owners
i've probably got one of the oldest s2k's out there (carfax showed it rolling off the boat in late '99) but it's still in great shape and I want to keep it looking that way. i recently broke down and bought a floor jack and jack stands and want to detail the underside and am curious what people use.
i have Simple Green (great on the engine bay btw) and some degreaser, but i'm open to other suggestions if anyone has any. the exhaust tips already get chrome polish, but i haven't really cleaned the mufflers before. any suggestions on that would be appreciated too.

I am not a fan of Simple Green as it has proven to be harmful to aircraft parts especially alum. When I was in to showing cars I used soap and water and mineral spirts for greesy area.

Buy a small household steam cleaner from Target,KMart,Walmart, etc... You shouldn't have to spend over $40 and you will actaully have a little fun not getting dirty.
The best part is that it is *almost* idiot proof as far as not harming components by the use of chemicals and ease of grime removal. The added bonus is that you can use it for other tasks around the house as well. Cleaning pee off your toilet seat will make your wife/girlfriend mucho happy!

Stuff at Wally World in a purple jug...Castrol Super Clean works well. I use it to clean under my mom's yukon once. Worked very well. I diluted it 50/50 to start, then went to full strength. Don't breath it in because it will choke you.

I use a product called Desolve It. You can find it at Tap Plastics. It is great for removing grease and oils from underneath the car. It is a citric based cleaner, but works better than any other brand of citric cleaner that I've ever used. BTW, my engine bay is cleaner that Rollinmys2000's.
