Default Buying Porter-Cable 7424

I am getting ready to buy the Porter Cable soon. I heard its best to get the velcro backing plate for it...... where is the best place to get what I need for a good price? Also, what pads are assential for me to get? I heard the orange pad is a must have pad, what others and where to get? I am planning on detailing my Sebring Silver s2000 within the next few weeks. It has a few swirl marks that i would like to get out and I wan't to make it shine!

I am planning on Washing it, claying it, then using Swirl-x on the whole car, then wax it with Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0 . Should I use some type of final polish after the swirl-x and before the wax to get better results? What finishing polish should I use? Should I use swirl-x on my car everytime I buff it, or just wax it if I don't have swirl marks?

I know I have a LOT of questions, I thank you all for any help you guys can give me.

Thanks.

I would look into a starter kit, which would include porter cable, polishes, backing plate, and pads. In the end it's cheaper than buying everything seperate.

I went with the Einzenite products and I'm very pleased.

What do you guys think of this kit?

It says it includes a Flex Backing plate. Is that the velcro plate I would need?

I agree with metros. Buy a starter kit. That way you get stuff designed for use with a polisher and plenty of stuff to get the job done. It will cost a little more upfront but you will save in the long run. Just my $0.02

I already have the Swirl-X, Meguiars Tech Wax 2.0, Meguiars Ultimate Compound, Meguiars Scratch-X. Im just wondering if I should use some type of Pure polish after I use the swirl-x and what pads I should get. Also, if the backing plate is the velcro item that allows the pads to velcro to the Porter Cable.

Thanks.

Maybe Phil can comment on your product selection. I'm iffy on the use of swirl-x/scratch-x.

I think you should do some more research at autopia before buying anything.

I think I am going to go ahead and get the Buffing Pad kit here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Deluxe-Foam...Z250379347628QQ

Which includes the Velcro backing plate.

And I am going to get the Porter-Cable from here:
