Burnt Titanium
I just washed my car for the first time after installing my Invidia and i noticed the tips were lightening up in a spot. I touched it and it smeared, almost like a dry erase marker. I smeared some dark blue/purple into the light blue section that faded to make it even again. Is there anyway to prevent this, and does re-burning them make them blue-ish again?

if they really are ti, heat should reblue them... but i think that they have to be heated by torch- the exhaust usually does not get hot enough.
this is a great question- i would guess that you would want to remove all blue and then reblue them.... but dont do that until we get some more input!

I wonder if the blue from the factory was a dye...interesting. Personally, I'm not a fan of the look, but I would not be happy if my expensive exhaust was not living up to my expectations! I hope you can restore the look you want!

Hey Robert-
Just go to your local hardware store and in the plumbing section you will find propane torches. Unbolt your exhaust (I wouldn't do this with it on the car) and go to town. If I remember, it takes about 10-15 seconds of heat for it to start to change color. The longer you heat it (to an extent) the more excited the atoms in the Ti get and the "bluer" it turns

should he clean off the "old blue" first?

ahh cool thanks. the burnt also does have some brownish yellow part. im guessing that it's from not getting as hot, but the only thing i need to know now is can i just re-burn it or clean it all off then redo it like wanabe said.
