Black tape on windshield frame
I noticed recently that the windshield frame on my car is not actually painted black, but is covered with black tape . I'm sure a lot of other people have noticed this too. It looked to me like black paint, but it's pretty obvious when you look in the door jamb that it's tape. I've read in other posts that there is paint (same color as the body) under the tape, but I like the look of the black and have decided to leave it on . So my question is this:
How do you guys care for the tape?
Obviously, it should be washed along with the rest of the care. My question is more about protecting it. When I thought it was paint I had waxed it, but now I'm wondering if using a protectant like 303 on it would be better or maybe something else.
