Default Black & Decker leaf blower.

You don't necessarily have to use Black & Decker, but I washed my car yesterday and decided to use my leaf blower to remove the majority of the water from the car (including all the crevices and inside the mirrors. This is probably the safest way to remove the water instead of taking a chance with a water blade, towel or some other type of water remover. Just my two cents.

I've got a 13 year old Sears electric leaf blower. Does a great job. And I must say, I'm quite the entertainment for the neighbors

I will try that this weekend. I have a old leaf blower somewhere.

I have been using this method for a while a couple of years ago, when I noticed that when I started my gas powered 2 cycle leaf blower that blue smoke came out of the blower end for a few seconds. I became concerned that I was blowing little blobs of uncombusted 2 cycle oil all over my car.

Something to check

Of course if you have an electic - no problems.

And it does create amusement for the neighbours.

Is there anyway that a very small rock could get sucked in and launched at the car. Dust or dirt particles could easily scratch the paint if they are moving fast enough.

I would assume that the air would be clean of dirt. However, dust may come out. Keep in mind if you wipe your car, the problem would probably be worse by you rubbing in the dirt.

For the blower, is the smaller version (150MPH) good enough? Or should I just get the 200MPH blower?

good idea to use a blower that you only use for the car and keep it clean. some can be used as vacuums- they might have stuff in them that could be shot onto the car when the blower is used.
i just ordered a new one that will only be used for the car-

I use compressed air to get "everything" from around the headlights and seams on the S2000. I even use it with my wife's Accord. It is especially handy when I'm about to wax the cars. Nothing worse than the little beads of water that show up while you're waxing.
