If you sheet the water off first you'll have no problem using only one.

I've owned just about every MF towel made from Kmart, Target, Costco, Autozone, boutique natural MF brands like DF and Autopia CBT (both nice and soft as hell but expensive and slow wicking ), Big blue, CMA miracle towel and Pakshak.

The biggest bang for the buck is Pakshak. Highly recommended. If you join Autopia and then email him, he'll usually give a much better price. Awesome customer service too.

The Pakshak waffle weave sure looks like a big blue to me. I always sheet the water off my car and I never get my big blue very wet. I also have a fairly steep driveway to help the water run off the finish. Since I have been sheeting the water off the finish, I haven't seen any need to use my air compressor or the leaf blower.

I found that the time I wasted using either of those was time spent forming water spots on my finish. Now I wipe the water off as fast as I can and I don't need to worry about water spots any longer.

BTW, if you find yourself with too much water in your towel before you are finished drying your car, just wring it out and keep on going. It doesn't need to be completely dry for it to work. Sometimes, I have used the el cheapo micro fiber towels that I picked up at the local WalMart. They will work also, I just need several of them instead of one big blue.

Well, the results are in. Washed the car this weekend, then dried 1/2 with Big Blue, and 1/2 with a Pakshak 24". The verdict: too close to call!!! Both did an EXCELLENT job of drying w/out the benefit of a water blade or sheeting beforehand (although I will say that the Pakshak was pretty "full" after drying half the car).

Bottom line: for your money, the Pakshak 24" can't be beat. For pure drying power, BB may just edge out the Pak...but it's also a LOT bigger (and waaay more xpensive). Also, if as one member said, the BB is the same as the blue waffle weave towels sold by Pak, then it's no contest: Pakshak takes the "blue" ribbon...

bigpurp, since you have both, isn't the Big Blue the EXACT same towel as the waffle weave sold by pakshak? They sure look the same to me...

BTW, one of our board members runs a car care store, and sold me a couple of Big Blues for $17 each (including shipping), which I believe is slightly less than the Pakshak towel.

Jeff, I don't have the waffle weave from Pakshak, but someone here said that it's essentially a Big Blue.

Also, could you tell me who sold you the BB for $17 w/shipping. I'll take one more...
