vinylex goes on all vinyl the same way... i spray a rag until its soaked (as mentioned above, away from the car)- then apply. i apply to the interior at least each time i wash the car, and sometimes in between too. have applied to the top once in the 3 years that i have had the car. had a hard time finding that top- finally was able to locate it- if yours is missing, you might find it under that boot thing!!!

supposedly, vinylex does not bond to the vinyl like 303. a good rain is all that is needed to wash it off..... I don't know the validity of this, but I have seen it posted by independent vendors.

I use Vinylex comes right off in the rain or when you wash the car. I have been using it for almost 3 years now and it works great but when it rains it will streak down the glass and leave it smeared. It doesn't rain here much so it's not a big deal but I do need to put it on after every wash. Also when you put the top down it will leave marks on the back glass once you put it back up. No big deal but kinda bugs me. I have been thinking of actually switching to something else personally. I think I'm going to try cleaning it and the using some sort of 3m scotch guard or something over it to protect it. I just want something with UV protection like vinylex and also something with more of a stain/weather guard like scotchguard. Anyone know of anything besides 303?

Vinylex DOES bill itself as a protectant http://www.sportscarcare.com/scc/vinylex.jpg (80K)
Other than Vinylex or 303, you could try Amazing Roll-off or Renovo.
