Default Best way to remove clumps of wax

Hey guys, well I have been detailing my car for a little while now but now I have a problem. Every time it seems, no matter how careful I am I get clumps of wax/and or polish in every little crack you can imagine. Some are impossible to reach even with a Q-tip. And I have some that I can reach, yet I CANNOT get it off. I cant even scratch it off with my nail if I try.

Am i doing something wrong? is there a type of solution that will just dissolve this, and of course ill have to probably re-wax again? TIA

You can clean it up with a MF towel and some pressure, if it doesn't work use a quick detail spray, spray some on the crack etc and try to remove the residue.

A good way to prevent this is to either not go over the cracks or even better mask the car up with 3m painter's masking tape a bit more prep work but you will never get residue or build up in the cracks again.

masking the cracks (see blue masking tape)

my first thought is that you are using the wrong wax!

which one are you using?

(and agree that prep is a good solution for you)

thats a very good idea didnt think of that one i tried rubbing it off with a mf towel and soap and water while washing my car..but it does not want to let go what so ever. is it because the soap has stuff in it specifically to keep the wax on the car rather than remove it?

I use detailing stix that griots carries. Along with a credit/costco card, micro fiber and optimum no rinse detail spray strength.
