Lowes doesnt carry car care stuff as far as i know. I got mine at tri city paints on Miramar/Camino Santa fe. They have the full line of meguiars professional as well as 3m products.

You will also need a 6.5" hook and loop backing plate.
Backing plate = 22 pads = 13 each.
I just noticed you are in san diego. Do you go to Fusion? If so roll out on Thursday and we'll talk shop. There are a few real "pros with the PC". Im a rookie with the machine but i've picked up some techniques. Do you have AIM?

Like mentioned before the guy that worked on your car was a total hack. He must have no clue what he's doing. However he knows enough to be dangerous... thinking he could "hide" the swirl markes... they have products like that on the market.
I did this with a PC in just a few minutes with Optimum compound. This was just the first stage in the process... I haven't even polished it yet

My guess is you have the same issue as with this Lexus, it had those spider marks your discribing. This is a 2004 Lexus. Most Lexus' have single stage paint and its very soft and hard to remove swirls due to the soft paint... but it can be done with a properly used PC and good product.

If your willing to make the investment on the tools needed we could help you learn how to do this type of work yourself. It just takes practice. But there's a lot of great info here that could help you learn not to mention all the great people here too.
We all started out by trying it. The money you'll spend to pay someone else to do it you could get about 1/2 the equipment.
