After touching the brakes once there is no way this would effect anything. I just want to know how long an application will last.

It's always a good idea to seal your wheels. You don't have to use a dedicated product like this one. I just use the same spray sealant I would use on paint. Over the years, I've tried many wheel specific sealants/waxes. None of them seem to do a better job than the same sealants/waxes you would use on your paint.

Would you list some of the products you've used?

Hard to remember them all but here are a few I've used:

Wheel Wax
DP Wheel Glaze
Poorboy's Wheel Sealant

I'm sure I've tried a few others but their names escape me.

C'mon guys, you should all be better than believing merlin. It's nothing more than an oil based substance. You can achieve the same exact effect by spraying your wheels with baby oil, and leaving it for an hour to dry.

While I agree, it's a "good product" all they did was stick oil in a bottle.

So as wheel's are (mostly) painted , in theory you could use this stuff on your body paint and not have to wash the car for 4 week's ???

I agree with the above In the absence of a proper test it's got oil in it ,
