yeah, there's sound deadening under the paint and undercoating over the paint. It's supposed to be there. Go look at a new S2000. As it gets older, it softens up and dirt and stuff collects, but it's slightly sticky and will scrub off with enough force/solvent. I cleaned mine up (removed the loose stuff only) and resprayed it.
