Default Anyone try this Zymol wax trick?

First wash your car with your favorite cleaner. Then squirt a small amount of Zymol in a bucket, add about a quart of hot water. Dip and wring out a soft towel in the stuff. Apply to the car like you would be if you were towel drying it. Every where but the soft top. (Yes glass too). Buff haze with another soft towel. No swirl marks and a great shine. Fast and easy, and the rain beads like Rain X.

Is this Zymol specific or would any wax supposedly work? I knew a guy once that would wash his car and then put the wax on with a wet soft cloth as if washing the car again only with wax and then he would rinse it off, blow dry the car and then buff off the excess wax. Kinda strange thing to do if you ask me but it did seem to work nicely and offer a great shine. Better than doing it conventionally, not sure but it worked nonetheless.

This is similar to when you go to the wand wash type places.. they have a "wax" mode which basically blasts out the water with wax.

But it sounds like your method would definitely work better.

Oh yea! Follow up....Since you never "dry " the car throughout the proceedure, the water acts like a lubrcant during the application. Just make sure you always wash/wax in the shade!
Duh.....

Zymol in the blue squeeze bottle. I guess the cleaner/wax. You can tell the stuff is adhering to the surface because the towel feels strange as you gently rub. Also think about this. Probably 95% of the wax that you apply to a surface is wiped off and ends up on the towel. This method only uses a small amount of wax to begin with. (The cheap $%^&^ that I am) 1/2 cap full. And the haze left is almost insignificant. So the towel isn't smearing the residue wax around. It's almost sinful it works so well and is so easy.
